The Powerball jackpot is currently at $230 million! I never
play the lottery but for some odd reason whenever it gets really high, I buy a
ticket (or three). The odds are obviously stacked against me because the more
people playing, the less chance of winning, but it gives me the opportunity to
play the "if I won the lottery" game.
My answers are usually the same: 1. pay off my student loan, 2. travel the world and 3. become a life-long student. Just like sports fanatics dream of traveling to stadiums around the nation to experience them all, I want to travel to all of the major universities to take unique courses and study from some of the most brilliant minds. Sounds fun, right? ;)
I read somewhere that your response to the ‘what would you
do if you won the lottery’ question, is an inside look at the things that
matter most to you. And perhaps, you should work towards achieving
them regardless of having the means to do it. I know it’s easier said
than done, especially if one of your desires is to quit your job or go to
Hawaii for a year, but I’m sure there are some things on your list that are
within your reach. Maybe you want to learn to play the guitar or learn a new language?
True Story: Last year I asked myself this question and ‘become a yoga instructor’ was on my list. Since it was something within my reach, I worked on making it a reality. And I’m so glad that I did!
So...What would you do if you won the lottery? And how could you work towards some of those goals without having to actually win?
For this Wednesday’s Random Act of Kindness, I bought a bunch of Powerball tickets and gave them out to random people at my local Starbucks. I’m sure they will be playing the ‘what if’ game before tonight’s drawing.
OM the moment for your soul and buy some lotto tickets or
scratch-offs and leave them for stranger’s around town. It's a great way to spread joy and dreams!
Share this blog with your friends and family and encourage
them to do a Random Act of Kindness this week.
P.S. For those in the Powerball states, GOOD LUCK!
P.P.S. I would love to hear some of your lottery dreams! You can post them in the comments section below.
