Summer in Miami = Rain. Not that I’m complaining. I've mentioned my lack of a green thumb before and am very grateful for Mother Nature’s help with keeping my garden hydrated.
It’s funny because I’ve lived in Miami all of my life and know what to expect with the weather but I rarely, if ever, keep an umbrella handy. The truth is, I’m not even sure I know how to use one. I see people getting in and out of their cars with umbrellas with no problem and this is SO not the case with me. I always get soaked coming and going.
Does this ever happen to you? The person who invents a fool-proof umbrella will be a gazillionaire!
Which is why today I decided to leave my umbrella in the car while running errands on my lunch break. As I was dodging the rain, I noticed some people huddled at a bus stop with their umbrellas and/or ponchos on and one young teenager shuffling his feet under a tree trying to keep dry. I ran back to my car, got my umbrella and handed it to him with a kindness card. He thanked me with the biggest smile.
I called Alex afterwards and said that my ultimate dream is to one day receive one of my kindness cards from a stranger. A full circle of kindness. Wouldn’t that be awesome?
OM the moment for your soul and think of something that you can give away that could really help someone else out (clothes, toys, furniture). As they say ‘one man’s garbage is another man’s treasure.’
Share this blog with your friends and family and keep the kindness circle moving!
