Oprah: The Next Morgan Freeman?

I love Morgan Freeman. I love his movies, his acting chops and of course, his mesmerizing voice.  Who doesn’t remember the magical Olympics Visa commercials? When he speaks to the world, we listen. But lately, Mr. Freeman has some competition with Ms.Oprah Winfrey.  During the Super Bowl, Oprah did a voiceover on a commercial and now she’s teamed up with Deepak Chopra to co-sponsor a 21 day meditation series called Perfect Health

I’m on Day 7 and I cannot rave about it enough to people.  Each day, an email is sent to you with a summary as well as a recording with Oprah doing the intro and Chopra guiding you through the meditation.  I find myself wanting to replay it once it’s done and on more than one occasion I’ve done it twice in one day.  They're short, usually under 16 minutes, including the talking before the actual meditations so you can fit it in during a lunch break (guilty) or whenever your schedule permits.

If Deepak/Oprah aren’t your cup of tea, I have another great, portable alternative for you to get your meditation mojo moving.  There is an app called Headspace that encourages you to meditate for 10 minutes a day for 10 days.  The voice belongs to Andy Puddicombe, a one-time monk/circus artist from the UK who has made it his mission to bring meditation to everyone by offering fun and simple exercises. Visit his website or download the Headspace App today.

I encourage you to OM the moment for your mind and let go of the crazies in your head.  You know, those anxiety ridden "What if's" or those "I should have's" or "I shouldn't have's."  Let it all go.

So, what will it be?...Oprah 'The Next Freeman' Winfrey or a Circus trained monk? Whatever you choose, I would love to hear from you. Leave your comments/stories below.
